Live Different

If you were writing to people who had been severely mistreated – persecuted – unjustly accused, what would you write?

We are beginning a new series through 1 Peter, a letter written to Christians who were experiencing and living in such adverse circumstances.

Our hope must rise above the circumstances and treatment we receive from those opposed to our faith. The point of Peter’s letter, to put it simply, is that even though we are outsiders in the world, Jesus Christ gives us a living and true hope. That believers in Jesus Christ can keep the flame of faith ablaze in a world that is opposed to our faith.

Our prayer as we look at Peter’s letter is that God would so deeply speak to each one of us that we would live different. That when we encoutner unfair circumstances, our behavior, our motiviation, would be set because of Jesus Christ. That we would react in a way that anticpates the reality of who we are and what God has done in our life.
